הנדסת מכונות היא מקצוע רב-תחומי פורח בעל השפעה רבה על התעשייה והחברה בארץ ובעולם.
המחלקה להנדסת מכונות באוניברסיטת בן-גוריון בנגב, שהוקמה לפני 50 שנים, נהייתה מאז לשותף משמעותי בקשר האמיץ בין האקדמיה והתעשייה בארץ, שהוביל לפריצות דרך מדעיות והישגים טכנולוגיים רבים.
הכנסים הישראלים להנדסת מכונות הם מקום מפגש מסורתי לחוקרים ומהנדסים, המייצגים את האקדמיה והתעשייה, המביאים את נקודות המבט השונות ומתעניינים באתגרים הנדסיים, חידושים טכנולוגיים והשפעות רחבות על החברה האנושית.
הכנס מאורגן על ידי אוניברסיטת בן-גוריון, בשיתוף פעולה עם לשכת המהנדסים, הטכניון, אוניברסיטת תל-אביב, אוניברסיטת אריאל, מכללת אורט בראודה, מכללת אפקה, מכללת סמי שמעון, מכללת עזריאלי, התעשייה הישראלית והקהילייה הביטחונית.
בציון 70 שנים למדינת ישראל עם הדגש על הנושאים החשובים לתעשייה הישראלית
הנושאים בהם יעסוק הכנס כוללים, בין היתר:
טכנולוגיות ייצור, רובוטיקה, בקרה ומערכות אוטונומיות, מכניקת מוצקים, חומרים ומערכות בהשראת הטבע, טריבולוגיה, ביו-מכניקה, אופטיקה, טכנולוגיות צבאיות, הנדסה גרעינית, מכניקת זורמים, הנדסת מערכות, מעבר חום, תרמודינמיקה וטכנולוגיות אנרגיה.
תערוכה טכנולוגית תתקיים במקביל לכנס.

Mechanical Engineering is a thriving multi-disciplinary field having a great impact on the industry and society in Israel and all over the world.
Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, established 50 years ago, has since then been a partner to the strong and longstanding relationship between Israeli academia and industry, which has led to many scientific breakthroughs and technological achievements.
Israeli Mechanical Engineering Conferences have provided, traditionally, a meeting place for researchers and engineers, representing academia and industry, coming from different perspectives and interested in engineering challenges, technological advances and broader societal impacts.
The Conference is organized by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, in cooperation with the Engineers Association, the Technion, Tel-Aviv University, Ariel University, Afeka College, Azrieli College, Ort Braude College, Sami Shamoon College, the Israeli Industry and the Defense Community.
The conference will address a wide range of scientific and technological issues in the field of mechanical engineering and related topics, from theoretical studies to industrial applications and case studies, and from contemporary works to future trends, Celebrating 70th Anniversary of the State of Israel
with special focus on issues important to Israeli industry
The topics covered by the Conference will include, but are not limited to, such diverse fields as:
Manufacturing Technologies, Robotics, Control and Autonomous Systems, Solid Mechanics, Bio-inspired Materials and Systems, Tribology, Bio-Mechanics, Optics, Military Technologies, Nuclear Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, System Design, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics and Energy Technologies.
A technical exhibition will be held in conjunction with the Conference.
